Carl Janson has been active in the water and wastewater treatment industry since January of 1973, serving in positions as an Applications Engineer, Division Manager, Sales Engineer, Sales Manager, and Manager of Sales and Marketing for Met Pro Corporation prior to joining Riordan Materials Corporation in 1983 as a Sales Engineer. Carl became one of the owners of Riordan Materials in 1985 and was promoted to President in 1995. Carl has a passion for serving both the NJWEA and PWEA (PWEA Past President) with multiple and numerous awards and accolades. Carl also has been very active with WEF, where he served on the Board of Trustees and several terms as the PWEA Delegate for Pennsylvania in the WEF House of Delegates. He finished his last year of a three year term in 2017, after completing two previous three year terms in the WEF House of Delegates. He most recently was honored to receive the award of WEF Fellow and is also a Life Member of WEF. Carl continues to serve as a Trustee for the NJWEA South Section, where he also serves as Membership Chair and Affiliates Co-chair. He has been awarded 5S (Shoveler) in both NJ and PA and also the Golden Manhole Award for both NJ and PA. He serves as an active member of the WEF Manufacturers and Representatives Committee, Chair of the Engineering Procurement Subcommittee of WEF’s MARC Committee, Stockholm Junior Water Prize Committee, WEFTEC Advisory Committee, WEF Website Task Force Committee, WEF Nominating Committee, WEF Budget Committee, Public Communication and Outreach Committee, Awards Committee, and Co-chair of Boy Scouts Subcommittee of PCOC. Carl also is a member of AWWA, ASCE, Mercedes Benz Club of America – South Section NJ President, PA Rural Water, Water, Wastewater Equipment Manufacturer’s Association (Member for about 10 years), and Manufacturers Agents of North America where he served several terms as President of the Philadelphia Chapter. He holds a BS in Biology/Environmental Science from Albright College and completed AMA Courses and the Dale Carnegie Sales Course. In his spare time, Carl enjoys, cycling, spinning, golf, reading, music, genealogy and stamp collecting. Carl is Chair of the WWEMA Manufacturers Representative Council and in that capacity serves as an Ex-Officio Member of the Board of Directors.
