On November 2-4, 2022, WWEMA will host the Association’s 114th Annual Meeting at The Rancho Bernardo Inn. The Annual Meeting is the Association’s premier meeting that addresses management and operational issues and industry trends and offers many unique networking opportunities in a relaxed setting. This year’s theme is Celebrating the Past; Envisioning Water’s Future. Since the passage of the Clean Water Act (CWA) 50 years ago, much progress has been made in improving water quality and protecting this invaluable resource, and water treatment technology providers have played an instrumental role in that progress. As we mark this milestone, this year’s Annual Meeting program will celebrate this progress and look ahead as we plan an equally successful future.
Our program will feature Tom Jorling one of the major architects of the Clean Water and Clean Air Acts who served as Minority Counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Public Works as these critical pieces of legislation were being drafted and passed by Congress. He will provide an insider’s perspective on what it took to pass these historical pieces of legislation. Our meeting will also include John Manzella, a world-recognized presenter, author, and a nationally syndicated columnist on global business, trade policy, labor, and the latest economic trends. Manzella will help us make sense of all the market uncertainty, workforce, inflation, and other business headwinds as we look to 2023 and provide strategies to reduce these risks. We will also hear a national and global markets update for the water sector from WWEMA-member Akash Rathod, Director of Industry Marketing at Flowserve Corporation, who is closely tracking what the outlook for 2023 and beyond might hold. A presentation and roundtable by Kiri Anderer of EPA will continue our focus on Build America, Buy America. We will receive the latest updates on this critical topic and be able to engage one-on-one with this key policy implementer. Finding and retaining quality staff continues to be an issue across all industries. We will hear from Michel Levitt, a Fortune 500 consultant and #1 bestselling author and host of the Breakfast Leadership Show podcast who will share his knowledge about creating a workplace and culture that makes employees want to stay. He will address those issues that often lead to employee dissatisfaction – unfair treatment at work, unmanageable workloads, lack of role clarity, lack of communication and support from management, and unreasonable time pressures. Learn how you can improve in-house operations to transform your company into one that everyone wants to work for. A preliminary schedule is available HERE and will be updated as program details are finalized.
