Mark Handzel is Vice-President of Product Regulatory Affairs and Compliance for Xylem Inc.  In this role Mark leads Xylem’s global effort to influence and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for rotating equipment products.  He works closely with government agencies, trade associations, and other organizations to fulfill this role.  He has been with the company (including predecessors) since 1983 and previously held positions in Sales Management and Product Marketing. Mark has represented Xylem on the Hydraulic Institute Pump Efficiency Expert Team which negotiated Clean Water Pump Efficiency regulations with the U.S. Department of Energy.  He was recognized for his leadership by the Hydraulic Institute on this team.  He has also served on the DOE Working Group on Circulator Pump Efficiency Standards and has great familiarity with U.S. Content Restriction Laws. Mark brings extensive experience in the area of domestic procurement legislation like Buy America, Buy American, ARRA, and American Iron and Steel.  Mark graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in General Engineering and later obtained an MBA with concentrations in Finance and Industrial Marketing.
